Element 9: Special Education

Manzanita Charter Middle School is committed to serving students with special needs, including with respect to challenges in the acquisition of English language skills, and will do so in compliance with all state and federal laws applicable to charter schools.

Manzanita Charter Middle School shall pay the District a general fund encroachment fee. The District shall retain all special education funds and shall be responsible for providing special education services to all Manzanita Charter Middle School pupils who reside within the boundaries of the District.

The arrangements between Manzanita Charter Middle School and the District with respect to special education services shall be the subject of a separate memorandum of understanding more fully delineating the parties’ respective rights and responsibilities.
